The Maine Arts Commission is pleased to announce the Creative Aging Grant Program to support the collaboration between artists and organizations in developing high-quality, participatory, arts programs for older adults.
Funds are available to support the hiring of teaching artists from the Maine Arts Commission’s Creative Aging Teaching Artist Roster to work in community settings such as libraries, senior centers, arts organizations, and assisted- and independent-living centers.

Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must have an active Maine Arts Commission account and current Vendor Code to receive funding. An organization is eligible to apply only if it meets all of the following criteria at the time of application:
- An organization is eligible to apply if they meet all of the following criteria:
- The applicant is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service or is a unit of municipal, county or tribal government, legally established in the state of Maine.
- The applicant has a valid DUNS number.
- Is partnering with an artist from the Creative Aging Teaching Artist Roster.
- Is in compliance with Final Reports required by the Maine Arts Commission for previous awards.
- An individual is eligible to apply if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Is listed on the Creative Aging Teaching Artist Roster.
- Is partnering with a nonprofit organization that has a valid DUNS number.
- Have resided full-time in Maine for at least one year immediately prior to the application deadline.
- Will reside full-time in Maine throughout the project period
- Are at least 18 years of age or older by the application deadline
- Are not a student enrolled in a degree or certificate-granting program.
- Is in compliance with Final Reports required by the Maine Arts Commission for previous awards.
