The Northern New York (NY) Community Foundation is offering John and Dorotha VanNess Family Fund to nonprofit organizations creating and promoting programs, activities, and initiatives positively impacting citizens and the general welfare of the greater Potsdam area.
John S. VanNess and Dorotha T. VanNess believed in a strong and prosperous Potsdam community. They were actively engaged throughout their lives through local business and volunteer work. This legacy fund is a meaningful way to recognize their devotion to their community, while designating grant funding to nonprofits making a difference in Potsdam.
Focus areas: Health and wellness, arts and culture, economic development, education, recreation programs, community revitalization and beautification, strategic planning and research, and other quality-of-life projects and opportunities

- Up to a total of $ 20,000 is available for this grant application.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Northern New Community Foundation stewards a variety of competitive grant programs that are open to eligible tax-exempt, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizations in St. Lawrence counties.
