Applications are invited for the K4C Microgrant Program which is the bridge between ideas and action. By providing microgrants in varying amounts up to $1,000, K4C helps young citizen leaders execute and magnify their initiatives to help repair our world.
Whether you plan to turn a vacant lot into a community garden, rebuild a school playground or help senior citizens ready their homes for the winter, they want to hear what project you’re passionate about.
They fund microgrant applications supporting a wide variety of projects and events; evidence of your creativity and ingenuity only serves to fuel the likelihood that your application will be successfully funded.
The Karma for Cara microgrant program is managed by their partner, Living Classrooms Foundation. Living Classrooms is a nonprofit organization based in Baltimore, Maryland. Its “Inspired to Serve” program aims to engage students from a diversity of backgrounds in service.

Funding Information
- Students 18 years of age and under may apply for funds between $250 and $1,000 to complete service projects in their communities throughout the United States.
Guidelines
- If you are applying on behalf of an entire class or student group, please designate a maximum of three student leaders to be the main points of contact for the project. They realize additional students may be involved, but having clear points of contact will make communication much easier.
- Include numbers as best as you can. They want to know how many students will be involved in executing your project, how many people will benefit from your project, etc. Please note that more isn’t necessarily better. The numbers simply help us better understand the scope of your project.
- While they understand the need for purchasing items to donate to others, your microgrant project should involve more than just purchasing items and donating them. Are you transforming the items you purchase into something else that can be used in a variety of ways? Are you bringing students together to pack/organize/make something out of what you purchase?
- It is our intent that our grants fund the nuts & bolts of projects so they do not fund stipends, facility rentals, or transportation costs.
