The Southern Monterey County Foundation’s (SMCF) Grant to inspire philanthropy and be a catalyst for strengthening communities throughout Southern Monterey County.

The SMCF encourages philanthropic giving and engages donors in making a difference for the communities. They provide grants to organizations that benefit the communities of Southern Monterey County, which they define as King City and all points south, excluding the coastal region. By strategically leveraging the donors’ investments, the SMCF aims to bring about positive change for Southern Monterey County.
Priorities
The SMCF seeks to support nonprofit organizations that have the leadership and capacity to provide important community resources and services in Southern Monterey County communities. In 2021, priority will be given to the following types of requests:
Preference is given to locally based organizations that have less access to other sources of support, and where a small grant can make a meaningful difference. Proposals selected for funding will demonstrate strong community support for the project or program and a viable plan for achieving results.
Funding Information
A total of $18,000 is available in 2021. Grants are expected to range from a minimum $500 to a maximum of $2,000.

Eligibility Criteria
Grants will be considered for projects and programs serving Southern Monterey County communities. The SMCF considers Southern Monterey County to include King City and all points south, excluding the coastal region.
