UNOPS Call for Proposals: Promoting Intergenerational and Intercultural Dialogue and Human Rights in Cambodia

BJA: Upholding the Rule of Law and Preventing Wrongful Convictions Program (US)

Deadline: 27 September 2017

The European Union Delegation to Cambodia decided to provide support through UNOPS to Reparations Projects that benefit the victims of the Democratic Kampuchea regime. It is a unique opportunity to finally bring closure to a dark chapter of Cambodian modern history and to create a more informed society. It is expected that by preserving and diffusing a part of Cambodian history which would otherwise be forgotten, new generations of young Cambodians can better understand the impact of this period on the current situation of their country.

This particular grant is aimed at raising awareness on the sufferings of the vulnerable and minority groups in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge Regime. The main goal is not only to reconcile the past, but also to address the impacts of past and continuing violence and marginalization of different population groups inside the country.
