US: Evidence-based Workforce Development Partnership Training – Curriculum

The National Institute of Corrections (NIC) is inviting applications for the 2022 Evidence-based Workforce Development Partnership Training – Curriculum to assist justice-involved adults with maintaining long-term attachments to the workforce, practitioners must be able to assess those at high risk for job loss, identify specific criminogenic risks, and develop programming in response to the identified risk/need areas.

Goals: This project aims to develop a blended training curriculum to provide criminal justice practitioners and stakeholders with the knowledge/skills needed to effectively support the workforce development and reentry efforts of justice-involved adults.

Objectives

The tasks to be performed under this cooperative agreement will include review and revision of a blended Evidence-based Workforce Development training curriculum (to include a virtual instructor led format), facilitation of a pilot to evaluate the effectiveness of the training curriculum based on the Instructional Theory Into Practice (ITIP) model; develop/administer of pre/post assessment to evaluate the mastery of established competencies, knowledge and skills. The awardee will work collaboratively with the designated NIC project manager to select subject matter experts for the key informant focus group and instructors to co-facilitate the curriculum. In addition, the awardee will collaborate with the Project Manager to explore a procedure for providing professional certification and continuing education units for training participants.
