The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified organizations to fund activity entitled “Cleaner Air and Better Health (CABH) Activity”.
The purpose of the Cleaner Air and Better Health (CABH) activity is to strengthen air pollution mitigation and exposure reduction systems in selected regions of India, contributing to a cleaner environment and healthier population.
Objectives
There are two objectives for this activity:
- Objective 1: Improve air pollution mitigation
- Result 1.1: Improved capacity of decision-makers to use evidence-based approaches for air quality management; formulating policy; and implementing and enforcing mitigation actions.
- Result 1.2: Communities are empowered to advocate and act for improved air quality
- Result 1.3: Increased use of market-based and enterprise-led approaches that complement traditional regulatory approaches to mitigate air pollution.
- Result 1.4: Increased deployment of mitigation technologies and systems, including source elimination, cleaner energy and air pollution control devices; improved landscape management.
- Objective 2: Reduce exposure to air pollution
- Result 2.1: Improved capacity of decision-makers to use evidence-based approaches for reducing exposure and improving health.
- Result 2.2: Expanded evidence base for high-impact health interventions.
- Result 2.3: Increased adoption of behavioral change for exposure reduction
- Result 2.4: Improved indoor environment.
Funding Information
- USAID intends to award one Cooperative Agreement pursuant to this notice of funding opportunity. Subject to funding availability, successful ongoing implementation and at the discretion of the Agency, USAID in total government funding intends to provide US$15 Million through incremental funding over a five (5) year period.
- The anticipated period of performance is five (5) years.
Eligibility Criteria
- This funding opportunity is unrestricted and is open to all eligible U.S and non-U.S. nongovernmental organizations (other than those from foreign policy restricted countries), including foundations, institutions of higher education, consortiums and public international organizations, etc. Individuals are not eligible to participate.
- USAID welcomes organizations that have not previously received financial assistance from USAID to submit their applications.
