The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Bureau for Resilience and Food Security and USAID/KEA, is announcing the Sustainable, Transformational and Accessible Water Interventions (STAWI) Addendum to the Diversifying Partnerships in WASH (Diversifying Partnerships in WASH (DiP-WASH)).
Under STAWI, USAID/KEA aims to engage locally based new and underutilized partners to expand and amplify the Agency’s work through and with water security. The overall Agency goal is to seek to support partner countries’ progress on the Journey to Self-Reliance, achieve sustainable and resilient results, and catalyze more effective partnering for impact.
The purpose of STAWI activity is to strengthen resilience and expand economic opportunities in targeted northern and eastern counties through management of water resources, expansion of sustainable water services, and improved use of water within agriculture and livestock production and market systems. The overall goal is to improve water security in areas of recurrent crises.
Objectives
Specifically, applications under this activity should address two or more of the four objectives:
- Improve governance of water resources and services;
- Increase the sustainability of water service delivery; and
- Improve management, efficiency, and equitable access to water used for productive purposes; and
- Improve collaboration and learning across stakeholders under the leadership and coordination of the STAWI Contract Awardee.
Funding Information
- Subject to the availability of funds, the total estimated shared ceiling budgeted for award(s) to be issued under this activity is $14,600,000. The expected size of each award to be issued will be determined based on the nature of concept notes. All terms and conditions of the USAID DiP-WASH APS apply.
- The period of performance is five years from the date of award.
Eligibility Criteria
All Implementing Partners must be legally registered entities under applicable law and eligible under the relevant laws to receive funding from a foreign source. Individuals, unregistered, or informal organizations are not eligible to be Implementing Partners.
