USAID: Bangladeshi Youth Activity (BYA)

Through the Bangladeshi Youth Activity (BYA) addendum to the YouthPower 2 (YP2) USAID/Bangladesh seeks to bolster opportunities for youth employment and workforce development, resilience to violent extremism and anti-democratic values; and to provide youth the skills and abilities to advocate for good governance.

BYA will build skills and empower in-school and out-of-school youth to increase their employability, civic engagement, and contribution to the economic growth of Bangladesh using a gender-sensitive and gender-appropriate approach. BYA seeks to improve the capacity of educational and training institutions to provide market responsive training and career guidance services.

The BYA activity also seeks to support youth led organizations and groups to promote social development activities in their community in collaboration with local government, educational institutions, other development actors, and the private sector. BYA envisions partnerships with private sector employers to ensure and/or develop short-term vocational or technical training courses that are directly linked to identified short- and long-term employment opportunities.

Objectives

To this end, USAID/Bangladesh, through the DRG, OPHNE, and the Office of Economic Growth, seeks the award of two activities targeting in- and out-of-school youth with the following objectives:
