Call for Strengthening HIV Care and Treatment Program in Sierra Leone

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Burma) is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified US and non-US organizations to implement the HIV/ TB Agency, Information, and Services (HIV/TB AIS) Activity.

The HIV/TB AIS Activity is an activity under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the USAID Accelerator to End Tuberculosis (TB Accelerator). The dual purposes of the Activity are: to achieve HIV epidemic control and to achieve a Burma free from TB.

The HIV/TB AIS Activity aims to improve the health of people in underserved and conflict-affected areas of Burma who are at risk for HIV and tuberculosis. USAID seeks innovative, cost-efficient solutions to address long-standing inequities in access to and utilization of health services among affected communities.

Funding Information

  • USAID seeks to provide up to $39M in total USAID funding over a 5-year period.

Expected Outcomes

  • Expanded services to ensure affected populations are reached, tested, and linked to TB and HIV services;
  • Effective TB and HIV prevention, care and treatment services are available and tailored to the unique needs and locations of affected populations;
  • Affected populations can seek services and advocate for reform without suffering legal, financial or social barriers;
  • The health system has effective technical leadership capacity and private sector engagement, and uses information for learning, advocacy, adaptation and taking effective approaches to scale.
