USAID Call for Applications to implement Partnerships for Educational Progress Program in Egypt

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Egypt is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement the USAID Partnerships for Educational Progress (Partnerships) program.

The purpose of the Partnerships Activity is to strengthen the higher education system to address Egypt’s development priorities. Through partnerships with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), Egyptian higher education institutions (HEIs), and the private sector, the Partnerships Activity will accelerate the MOHESR’s vision to transform Egypt’s public HEIs into world-class, market-relevant centers of learning that prepare and connect Egyptian students to the workforce.

Subject to funding availability and at the discretion of the Agency, USAID/Egypt intends to provide $85 million in total USAID funding over a five-year period.

Target Population and Geographic Location 

The Partnerships activity should engage a diverse pool of HEI stakeholders across Egypt, including students, faculty, and HEI administration and management. The activity will also target Ministry officials and affiliated entities at the central and governorate levels. The Partnerships activity will work with USAID and the MOHESR to determine the geographic scope of the activity and the beneficiary HEIs, concentrating on faculties and HEIs most in need of support.
