The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking submission of concepts and ultimately full application from qualified entities to implement the Land, Environment and NRM Policy Program.

Core Objective

The purpose of this PD is to facilitate policy reforms in support of deepening engagement among the private sector, local communities and other actors in key landscapes and localized development across sectors. The activity will also support environmental governance, climate change adaptation and mitigation, the development of a land tenure policy, carbon finance legal framework and implementation support and support for the Blue Economy and youth and women’s engagement in eco-entrepreneurship and green jobs. This will be done within the context of the anticipated and ongoing legal reforms in Kenya.

Funding Information

USAID intends to award one Cooperative Agreement pursuant to this notice of funding opportunity. Subject to funding availability and at the discretion of the Agency, USAID intends to provide $3,500,000 in total USAID funding over a five (5) year period.

Program Results

Specific areas of support are Land Tenure, Tourism, county and national climate change readiness, and youth and women’s engagement in eco-entrepreneurship and green jobs.
