Under the USAID-funded “Organic Export Oriented Agriculture Development” project, People in Need (PIN) has launched a grant call for agricultural households, organic producers, associations, cooperatives or groups of farmers active in the organic farming sector.
The main objective of the project is to support the development of a sustainable ecological agriculture sector in Moldova.
In this call, the main purpose of the action is to provide financial support to third parties – agricultural households, organic producers, associations or groups of farmers who intend to create:
- A point of marketing for domestic organic products that can provide various foods from their own household or from several local producers or
- Mini organic or organic processing unit
- Fruit / vegetable storage (but not construction) or
- Technical equipment (but not second hand) or
- Any other innovative idea in organic farming, but no production activities.
Grant Information
- The total amount available under this call for proposals is 16 000 USD. The contracting authority reserves the right not to allocate all funds available.
- Any grant requested in this call must be between the following minimum and maximum rates:
- Minimum amount – 2500 USD
- Maximum amount – 4000 USD
Duration
The initial duration of the planned activities will not exceed 5 months. With full implementation of the project by September 15, 2018.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Ecologically certified agricultural holding or conversion period
- Small and medium enterprises with registered local office, verifiable for project implementation in the Republic of Moldova
- Small and medium-sized enterprises registered at least one year ago with at least 1 financial report submitted;
- Small and medium-sized enterprises without debts to state institutions, social and medical insurance bodies, with paid taxes.
Eligible Actions
Eligible actions for the application:
- Purchase of equipment and machinery
- Marketing and promotion of the organic product
- Certification and authorization costs
- Training of technical staff
- Improve product quality or logistics capabilities
- Implementation of innovations in production.
