USAID/Jordan Water Innovations Technologies: Conserving Water through Adoption of Water-saving Techniques

Improving Conditions in Educational Centers to Strengthen the Resilience of the School Community and Prevent Diseases Derived from the Lack of Adequate WASH Services in 45 Schools (Lot 1) - Guatemala

Deadline: 24 October 2016

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications from qualified organizations to provide technical assistance to USAID/Jordan Water Innovations Technologies (WIT).

The USAID/Jordan goal for the 2013-2017 Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) is to improve prosperity, accountability, and equality for a stable, democratic Jordan.

The objective of the Water Innovations Technologies (WIT) activity is to conserve water through the adoption of proven water-saving technologies and techniques. WIT targets water conservation at the end user level, promoting practices to preserve, protect, and utilize water resources better. Long term interventions will reduce unsustainable groundwater extraction that depletes aquifers, balancing the high demands on Jordan’s limited water resources. Simple interventions for safe water collection and storage will also benefit households and communities.

WIT aims to leverage the use of technologies through improved public awareness, behavioral change, capacity-building and institutional strengthening measures, and incentives such as financing.
