The United States Agency for International Development’s Regional Development Mission for Asia (USAID/RDMA) is seeking applications from qualified U.S. and non-U.S. organizations to provide services and support to the disability sector in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (USAID Okardt).
The goal of the Disability Sector Support Activity in Lao PDR (USAID Okardt) is to improve and sustain the independence and functional ability of persons with disabilities, regardless of factors such as age, sex, gender expression, ethnic origin, or indigenous status, and their households in Lao PDR.
Key Components
The Activity will target the following three key components:
- Health: Increased utilization of health services for targeted persons with disabilities and their households.
- Livelihoods: Increased number of persons with disabilities is economically self-sufficient.
- Empowerment: Improved effectiveness of systems and the enabling environment to ensure sustainability of the health and livelihoods components.
Funding Information
USAID intends to provide $15 million in total USAID funding over a five year period.
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. and Non-U.S. organizations may participate under this NFO. Competition is unrestricted. Faith-based and community organizations are also eligible to apply.
- Note: Fee and/or profit allowance is not generally allowable under USAID Assistance instruments.
- USAID encourages applications from new partners. Local and regional organizations based in Asia are encouraged to apply.
- The successful applicant may present a partnership or network consisting of a group of institutions that will work together to perform the work envisioned by this NFO.
- Local and regional organizations based in Asia should be included as key partners.
