The Auckland Council has announced the applications for Waiheke Quick Response Grant Program.
Funding priorities

They welcome grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- Supporting youth-centred initiatives that build engagement, resilience and transtitions to adulthood.
- Meeting the needs of the ageing population.
- Restoring and protecting their natural environment.
- Creating a sense of identity and cohesion that reflects their identity.
- Ensuring their community is resilient and connected socially.
- Helping their communities lead active and healthy lifestyles.
- Protecting and conserving their heritage.

Higher priority for eligibility

They will prioritise projects that:
- collaborate with other community organisations
- seek other sources of funding for a project or event, from businesses or community
- purchase goods or services locally.

Lower priority for eligibility

They have identified the following activities as lower priority:
- Commercial entities and their promotion.
- Ticketed events.
- Activities that primarily benefit communities outside the Waiheke Island Local Board area, or a third party (e.g. activity to gain money for an organisation).
- Supporting the purchase of, or maintenance associated with, motor vehicles.
- Wages or operational costs.
- Individuals with projects on private land.

Amount: $500 – $2000
Outcomes
Their grants programme will support the following initiatives:
- environmental
- cultural
- arts
- community development
- recreational and heritage
- supporting our youth.
Eligibility Criteria
- community organisations with a formal legal structure
- groups or individuals with no formal legal structure can apply for up to $1,000 (Kaipatiki Local Board will not fund individuals)
- applicants seeking funding over $1,000 will need to nominate an umbrella organisation or
- receive funding retrospectively.
