Walmart Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Community Grant Program 2019 to support the needs of their communities by providing grants to local organizations.
The Walmart Foundation meets the needs of the under-served by directing charitable giving toward its core areas of focus: Opportunity, Sustainability and Community.
Funding Information
Awarded grants range from $250 to $5,000.
Funding Areas
- Hunger relief and healthy eating: Providing Federal or charitable meals/snacks for low income individuals and families in the United States
- Health and human service: Providing medical screening, treatment, social services, or shelters for low income individuals and families in the United States
- Quality of life: Improving access to recreation, arts or cultural experiences for low income individuals and families in the United States
- Education: Providing afterschool enrichment, tutoring or vocational training for low income individuals and families in the United States
- Community and economic development: Improving local communities for the benefit of low income individuals and families in the United States
- Diversity and Inclusion: Fostering the building of relationships and understand among diverse groups in the United States
- Public Safety: Supporting public safety programs through training programs or equipment in the United States
- Environmental sustainability: Preventing waste, increasing recycling or supporting other programs that work to improve the environment in the United States
Eligibility Criteria
- An organization holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code, listed in the IRS Master File that conduct activities in the United States.
- A recognized government entity: state, county, or city agency, including law enforcement or fire departments, that are requesting funds exclusively for public purposes;
- A K-12 public or private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university;
- A church or other faith-based organization with a proposed project that benefits the community at large such as food pantries, soup kitchens, clothing closets, etc.
- All organizations must verify that they meet the eligibility requirements. This may require submitting a support ticket through Cybergrants.
- Applications must be completed in full and submitted online to be considered.
- Submitting an online application does not guarantee funding.
- The facility manager and the grant administrator reserve the right to adjust the amount awarded to each organization without prior notice.
