The Bank of America is seeking applications for the Walter S. & Evan C. Jones Testamentary Trust Grant to provide educational and medical support to those residing in Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties in Kansas. Over time the trust been allowed to take on additional charitable support such as human services and community development projects.
Walter and Evan were successful farmers and cattlemen, which was the source of wealth for this very generous gift bestowed upon these communities.
The original trust was established to help develop a cure for polio. In the early 1960s when a vaccine was licensed, it was at the judgment of the courts to administer the trust as it is today.
Criteria
- Grant requests for general operating support, program support and capital support will be considered.
- Grant requests for capital support such as for buildings, land and major equipment should meet a compelling community need and offer a broad social benefit.
