The Women’s Giving Alliance (WGA) invites eligible non-profit organizations to submit Letters of Interest for a 2021-2023 grant program to provide women and/or girls in NEFL with proven and effective tools to break the cycle of female poverty.
Women’s Giving Alliance awards grants to organizations that serve women and girls in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns Counties. The current focus for the upcoming grants cycle is Breaking the Cycle of Female Poverty: Intervention and Prevention.
Each year, the Women’s Giving Alliance has nonprofit organizations submit Letters of Interest to be considered for a two-year grant. Historically, grants have ranged from $10,000 to $120,000 over two years.
Program Goals
WGA makes strategic, researched-based grants that:
- Facilitate systemic change to improve how women and girls are served in Northeast Florida;
- Apply creative solutions to critical needs;
- Produce measurable impact on the lives of women and girls.
Guiding Principles
In this grantmaking, WGA strive to:
- Use community research to develop initiatives;
- Focus on prevention and effective intervention;
- Support new ideas and untested efforts, as well as programs that have demonstrated results and impact;
- Establish expectations for sustainability, significant lasting value and impact.
Types of Programs
WGA is particularly interested in programs that:
- Include creative solutions;
- Are based on research and best practices;
- Include strategies for sustainability beyond the funding cycle;
- Incorporate collaboration and cooperation among nonprofit and community partners;
- Have the potential for long-term impact and may be scaled if successful to serve other populations and/or geographical territories;
- Include proven evaluation tools and protocols to monitor program outcomes.
Eligibility Criteria
- To qualify, organizations must be:
- Tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations or units of local government;
- Physically located in Northeast Florida (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam or St. Johns Counties).
- Programs or projects need to:
- Serve women and/or girls in Northeast Florida (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns Counties).
- Focus on Breaking the Cycle of Female Poverty: Intervention and Prevention, WGA current area of focus.
