Grants to Build Roster of CSOs, NGOs, Local Contractors in Cameroon

The Uraia Trust is a national organization that supports democratic transformation processes in Kenya. Its mission is “To provide quality civic education and empower Kenyans to exercise their civic duty in order to realize their constitutional aspirations.”

Uraia’s work is informed by its four Key Focus Areas (KFAs), which are:

With funding from Global Affairs Canada, CARE International, Uraia Trust, The Centre for Rights Education (CREAW), Community Advocacy and Awareness (CRAWN) Trust, and Urgent Action Fund Africa (UAF Africa) are implementing the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) Project whose goal is to strengthen the institutional capacities and activities of county, regional and national women’s rights organizations seeking to empower women and girls advance the protection of women’s and girls’ rights and achieve gender equality.

As part of the Women’s Voice and Leadership Program, Uraia wishes to work with organisations that subscribe to its values, which are, integrity, professionalism, teamwork, equality, equity and non-partisanship in order to achieve gender equality in Kenya.

WVL Programme is a five-year project aimed at strengthening the institutional capacities of county/regional/national women led WROs seeking to empower women and girls to realize their rights and achieve gender equality. To achieve this, the programme will provide funding to local/regional/national women led WROs in recognition of the funding gaps they face.

Funding Information

The maximum size of grant an Organization can apply for in each category is Kenya Shillings Three Million (kshs 3,000,000) and the maximum project duration is 2 years initially (with a possibility to extend / increase their grant later).

Interested organizations are invited to submit concept notes based on the templates provided ( Attachment 1 – Concept Note Template, and Attachment 2 – Budget Template) . The completed concept notes and budgets should be submitted by email at the address given on the website.
