Deadline: 30-Jun-21
The French Embassy in Zimbabwe is launching its first call for proposals “Support to the resilience of vulnerable populations to economic and climate challenges” aimed at supporting Zimbabwean civil society organizations working in these areas.
Themes
The project to be financed needs to address at least one of the two following themes:
- The resilience of agricultural systems to climate change and food insecurity: Given the increase in food insecurity in the country, the French Embassy wishes to support local and associative dynamics that aim to adapt agricultural systems to the climatic change, with the ultimate objective to improve the living conditions of rural populations.
- The empowerment of women to promote their civic, social and economic rights: Gender equality is a priority for the French development and cooperation policy and a condition for every project. By focusing on women’s social and economic integration, the French Embassy highlights its commitment to civic associations working in this field. To this end, specific attention will be given to projects targeting workers in the informal sector.
Funding Information
- The initiative provides co-funding of between USD 10,000 and USD 50,000 per project, for a total amount of USD 500,000 for Zimbabwean CSOs. This grant can be paid in US dollars to a NOSTRO account (arrangements can be made on a case by case basis).
- This call for proposals aims at supporting short term initiatives (3 to 12 months) implemented by small to medium-sized CSOs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any civil society organization working for the common public interest, including private voluntary organizations, trusts, federations of associations, cooperatives and groups. Each structure can submit only one project.
- The organization shall justify existence for more than 1 year at the time of submission of the project and be legally registered in Zimbabwe.
