Applications are now open for the Zoo Miami Wildlife Conservation Grants to promote efforts toward conservation of wildlife and natural ecosystems throughout the world.
The Zoo Miami Conservation Committee tends to not support funds used for the sole purpose of travel expenses, entrance fees, staff salaries, or fuel. Stronger applications would include projects that support species in the wild that are also present at Zoo Miami or their local environment, can involve Zoo Miami staff, and/or involvement of or investment in the local communities.
Goals
- Their goal is to assist applicants obtain funding of projects pursuing similar goals.
- Applications must be submitted in English, and be typewritten or word-processed.
- All submissions must include a contact name and phone number (fax number, if available) in the event there are any questions regarding this application.
- Award of this grant requires that any animals directly affected by a proposed project must be handled in a humane manner.
- If the applicant is an individual subject to U.S. income tax, tax liability may result from award of this grant. Applicants will be responsible for any tax liability (U.S. or foreign) resulting from award of this grant.
Funding Information
Amount: Applicants can ask for a maximum of $5,000.00 per grant
Eligibility Criteria
- Previous awardees are eligible and encouraged to reapply.
- Applicants should only submit one application per project/organization/entity.
- Individual, Governmental or Non-Profit organizations may apply.
Conditions of Acceptance
- Recipient will be required to submit progress reports at intervals to be determined by the awards committee (no more than two per year) and a detailed report of the project upon completion. The final report must include a financial statement and summary of accomplishments.
- Publications or presentations resulting from Zoo Miami funds must include appropriate acknowledgement formally recognizing Zoo Miami. A copy of any such publication or thesis must be sent to Zoo Miami.
- Zoo Miami has the right to use information from the project in zoo publications and promotions.
- If approved, applicant will be required to sign a liability waiver before receiving award.
