Deadline: 14 November 2025

The non-governmental organization “Detector Media” is accepting applications for funding to create content that will provide local communities with important local information, help citizens solve everyday problems during the war and refute Russian disinformation.

This initiative aims to strengthen local journalism and content production in regions most affected by conflict, fostering creativity and resilience within Ukraine’s media community. It encourages professional media outlets to develop meaningful and diverse formats, contributing to the dissemination of verified and impactful information.

A grant program offering a total of 335 thousand hryvnias is now open for media outlets from Ukraine’s frontline regions. The funding will be distributed among ten applicants with the most compelling and realistic ideas for content creation.

Funding may be used to pay editorial staff, hire external specialists such as designers, cover software licenses, travel expenses, and equipment rentals (limited to 30% of the total grant), as well as other minor operational costs. However, expenses unrelated to the project or incurred outside the project timeline, along with taxes, are not eligible.

Only media organizations registered as legal entities not individual journalists are eligible to apply. Participants must be based in one of the following regions: Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odessa, Kherson, or Mykolaiv. Media outlets that appear on the Map of Recommended Media, maintain transparent ownership, and adhere to the Journalist’s Code of Ethics will receive preference during selection.

The grant supports the production of content in various formats, including written stories, podcasts, videos, documentaries, and social media content, which must be completed by December 25, 2025.

Applications must be submitted by November 14, 2025, using the official application form. An independent expert committee will evaluate all submissions, and applicants will be notified of the results by November 19, 2025, via email.
