The National Book Trust, India, invites NGOs, Voluntary Organizations, and Educational Institutions to apply for financial assistance to conduct book promotion activities in India for the year 2025–26.
The focus areas for this funding opportunity include Book Fairs, Literary Festivals, Research/Surveys related to publication of books, readership and other related activities, Annual Conventions or Conferences of Writers, Publishers, Printers, and Book Sellers, Seminars and Workshops related to Publishing, and any other activity that may contribute to the development of the book industry or the promotion of books and reading culture in India.
This initiative aims to support events that promote books and foster a reading culture across the country, offering financial grants of up to 75% of the approved budget for selected proposals. Eligible applicants include NGOs, Voluntary Organizations such as Trusts, Societies, Section 8 Companies registered on NGO-DARPAN (NITI Aayog), as well as Universities and Educational Institutes. The proposed events should demonstrate the potential for significant social impact in enhancing the visibility and accessibility of books and reading.
By encouraging diverse activities like book fairs, literary festivals, and scholarly research, the National Book Trust seeks to strengthen the book industry and nurture a culture of reading that reaches all parts of the country. Events supported under this program are expected to engage various stakeholders including writers, publishers, printers, and booksellers, creating vibrant platforms for knowledge exchange and literary celebration.
