Grants for for Media Institutions and Non-governmental Organizations (Moldova)

Grants from The Friends of Moldova Winter 2022 Application Cycle

Deadline: 24-Oct-2025

The Center for Independent Journalism (CJI) in Moldova has launched a grant competition aimed at supporting independent media institutions and non-governmental organizations that promote social cohesion and inclusive dialogue.

This initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation between media and civil society organizations to encourage constructive communication, highlight diverse perspectives, and foster a more inclusive public space in Moldova.

Through this competition, CJI encourages applicants to design projects that address key social issues such as inclusion, minority engagement, and community trust-building. The goal is to amplify positive narratives, enhance media literacy, and support initiatives that bridge divides among various groups within society. The program values innovation and collaboration between media professionals and civic organizations, recognizing the power of storytelling and advocacy in advancing human rights and social harmony.

Following the competition, the CJI will award three grants, each worth 140,000 MDL, to the best project proposals. Selected projects will be implemented between November 1, 2025, and April 30, 2026.

Eligible applicants include independent media institutions—both local and national—from the Republic of Moldova, as well as NGOs actively engaged in promoting human rights and social inclusion. This opportunity represents a valuable platform for Moldova’s media and civil society to join forces, share expertise, and contribute to a stronger, more cohesive society built on respect, equality, and open dialogue.
