The Press and Society Institute (IPYS) announces the 2022 edition of the Latin American Prize for Investigative Journalism , the most important award in the specialty in the region.
Research published in any medium (written, radio, television, multimedia and/or internet) published between September 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022 , in any journalistic media in the region, in the languages of Spanish, Portuguese or English. The applications must be accompanied by an Executive Summary in which the applicants will detail methodological aspects of their work.
Award Details
The winner receives a prize of US$5,000 (five thousand US dollars).
Eligibility Criteria
- Solo journalists or journalistic teams who consider that their work, the product of their own searches, have contributed to the transparency of public affairs can apply for the award. The authors of the finalist papers will be invited to speak at the Latin American Conference on Investigative Journalism, also organized by IPYS.
- Journalists may apply in their personal capacity or as an investigative team, with one or more works published in a media outlet in Latin America and the Caribbean, either in Spanish, Portuguese or English. The research teams will designate a representative when registering.
