Climate Tracker is looking for two young journalists from the Dominican Republic to join the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Climate Week 2022 in Santo Domingo and learn and train in coverage of international conferences on climate change.

The Climate Weeks are organized within the structure of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and, although they are not negotiations as such, they aim at joint work between actors to advance climate action, confront inequalities typical of the region and promote sustainable development for humanity and nature.

Between July 18 and 22, 2022, Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) will host the Regional Climate Week for Latin America and the Caribbean, an event that takes place every year with the aim of mobilizing governments, civil society and different actors to drive climate action across countries, communities and economies.

Award Information

Those who are selected will attend Climate Week in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, between July 18 and 22, 2022 and will receive a training program, individual tutoring and editorial support in the coverage of international climate change conferences. In addition, they will receive 300 USD to write up to two articles on the development of the conference.
