Open call for young visual artists who want to be part of the “Block the Hatred. Share the love” campaign in the framework of the joint action of the European Union and the Council of Europe on “Promotion of Diversity and Equality in Albania”.
This campaign will be the design and realisation of a mural on one of the facades of the buildings in Tirana with a focus on the fight against hate speech. This activity is carried out in cooperation with the Municipality of Tirana within the frame of the European Youth Capital 2022.
The campaign "Block the Hate." Forgive Love” is an awareness movement introduced in the Western Balkans last year to inform and engage local communities in the fight against various forms of hate speech, targeting vulnerable groups and individuals such as LGBTI people, immigrants, people with special needs and ethnic minorities.
The campaign will continue in the coming months with a series of public events promoted through websites and social media, but also in mainstream media.
Eligibility Criteria
- Artists or groups of artists over 18 years of age who have the desire and the necessary experience to create a mural are requested to submit a draft sketch of their proposal, as well as a portfolio of their works can apply
- The winning sketch will be created by the artist himself or a group of artists with the support of the project "Promotion of diversity and equality in Albania" and the Municipality of Tirana.
- The project envisages a monetary reward for the selected artist/artists.
