If you’re a media founder developing new media products and aiming to make them market-ready, the Media Start Funding under the Vienna Media Initiative may be the support you need. This funding opportunity is designed for those creating economically sustainable media services who also want to strengthen their business management and journalistic skills.
Each project can receive up to 10,000 euros in funding, with a minimum project value of 2,000 euros. The maximum duration for any supported project is 1.5 years. This initiative is especially suited for self-employed journalists and small media companies.
The funding can be used to cover a variety of costs, including training and professional development, consultations, internal payroll, and travel expenses. External services related to these activities are also eligible for support.
To apply, you must submit a completed online funding application along with an application authenticity certificate and a de minimis declaration. Additionally, your latest financial accounts or an income statement must be included with the submission.
