The Rory Peck Trust is currently seeking applications from freelance journalists in Ukraine looking to strengthen their safety awareness and reporting resilience.
This is the first workshop of a project funded by the United Nations Democracy Fund and in partnership with the Institute of Mass Information. The two-year project aims to support freelance journalists in Ukraine by providing freelance journalists with the skills and knowledge to work safely and professionally and continue their vital contribution to an informed civil society.
Successful applicants will receive training on digital security, risk assessment, self-care, trauma awareness and responsible reporting.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications are now open to all journalists in Ukraine who hold Ukrainian citizenship, are living in Ukraine and working as freelancers and are available to travel to Kyiv and can commit to attending the five-day workshop from 7-11 June 2017.
- Travel costs will be reimbursed and accommodation will be provided for the duration of the workshop.
