The IberCultura Viva program and the Brazilian representation of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has launched the short film contest “Afrodescendent Communities: Recognition, Justice and Development “.

The contest aims to select videos that promote reflection on Afro-descendant communities and the pursuit of the full exercise of their cultural rights and / or value their contribution to the constitution, promotion and development of the Ibero-American culture.

This edict aimed to give visibility to the fundamental role of women in community culture and organization, facing attitudes and stereotypes that contribute to gender inequality and violence.

The total amount destined for the public notice is 5 thousand dollars. Ten videos will receive prizes of $ 500.
