Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Asian Development Bank announces a program to conduct a five-day online training program for journalists from Nepal.

The program, presented in English, will provide a unique opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge from experienced Reuter’s journalists, environment specialists, and climate change professionals. There will be an emphasis on producing high-impact stories for dissemination in the journalists’ own media with effective, accurate and timely content.

Climate Change is widely seen as the greatest threat to human development – perhaps even to human survival – in modern times. As the issue has moved gradually from the fringes of the news agenda to centre-stage, many journalists have difficulty grasping the implications and disentangling the mass of competing claims.

This program helps journalists to identify research and deliver clear, concise and accurate stories on climate change, its impact on the environment and the lives of ordinary people, and what can be done to help them adapt. It focuses on coverage that is relevant to both policymakers and general audiences.
