TRF: Reporting on Illicit Finance for Zimbabwean Journalists

CJF-CBC Indigenous Journalism Fellowships (Canada)

Deadline: 11-Sep-22

Thomson Reuters Foundation in partnership with MISA Zimbabwe, of the Media Institute of Southern Africa, is looking for Zimbabwean journalists who are motivated to understand how their country could be losing money via illicit means.

Wealth of Nations is a long-term engagement, and journalists who take part must commit to all elements of the scheme, signing an agreement to this effect. These items include:

Journalists will not be considered to have completed the scheme until they have completed all the elements, which for selected participants includes producing at least one story on illicit financial flows, and will not receive their certificates until this point.

Please note: Applications are also open now for an identical Wealth of Nations scheme for Zimbabwean journalists taking place in Bulawayo later in 2022. Interested journalists who are not available during the above dates (for the Harare workshops) are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be asked to specify in the application form which scheme(s) they would be available to participate in. Applicants should not indicate a preference for a particular scheme based on the workshop location as successful applicants receive a bursary which covers transport costs to and from the workshops.
