The Thomas Reuters Foundation is inviting applications for Presenting News of Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery to develop their knowledge on topics covering social, economic, and policy reporting.
Today, human trafficking has grown more widely than ever in history. Estimates of the number of people in modern slavery vary from 21 million to 36 million in an industry worth more than $150 billion in illegal profits per year.
As an upper middle income country with relatively high wages and a strong economy, Thailand has become the source, destination and transit country for modern slavery. Currently, there are about four to five million migrants who live and work in.
The media can therefore play a key role in solving this complex problem and explaining its impact on the community to the public. It also helps break down the myths or beliefs, the more unreal.

Training format
- Interactive meetings live through zooming and taking place over five days over a period of two weeks. To enable journalists with workloads to allocate learning time to their news reporting duties. Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be full-time journalists or journalists delivering regular news to a mass media organization in Thailand.
- Training in English There is an impromptu translation into Thai.
- Applicants must have at least three years of professional experience.
- Applicants who have previously participated in the Thomson Foundation training program. Reuters has arrived within the past two years are not eligible to apply.

Submission Criteria
