Deadline: 13-Nov-2025
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering a virtual workshop aimed at enhancing the capacity of journalists in India to report on the intersection of climate change and the private sector.
This initiative is part of EJN’s broader efforts to strengthen environmental journalism and foster informed public discourse on climate-related issues.
The workshop is designed for journalists and media practitioners who cover business, finance, and economic topics, with a particular focus on those who are interested in integrating climate change reporting into their work. Participants will engage with experts from various sectors, including researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives, to gain insights into how businesses contribute to and can mitigate climate change impacts.
Throughout the sessions, attendees will explore topics such as environmental accountability, sustainable business practices, and the role of the private sector in advancing climate solutions. The workshop aims to equip journalists with the tools and knowledge necessary to produce compelling stories that highlight both the challenges and opportunities associated with climate change in the business context.
In addition to the training sessions, participants will have the opportunity to apply for story grants, enabling them to develop and publish in-depth reports on topics covered during the workshop. This component is designed to support the creation of high-quality journalism that can inform and engage audiences on critical climate issues.
The virtual format of the workshop ensures accessibility for journalists across India, allowing for flexible participation without the need for travel. By fostering a network of informed and skilled reporters, EJN aims to contribute to a more nuanced and impactful media landscape concerning climate change and its intersection with the private sector.
This initiative underscores the importance of media in shaping public understanding and policy responses to climate change. By empowering journalists with specialized knowledge and resources, the workshop seeks to enhance the quality and reach of climate reporting in India, ultimately supporting broader efforts to address the climate crisis.
