About the Award
In 2022 Suicide Prevention Australia is celebrating the 19th Annual LiFE Awards recognising excellence in suicide prevention. The awards showcase the important and innovative work that many are doing in the prevention of suicide and support of people affected by suicide.
These prestigious awards attract diverse nominations with an interest in suicide prevention and support of those affected by suicide. A suicide prevention program is designed to prevent, or respond to suicidal behaviours and their impact on people, families, communities and the community. Nominations may extend across groups such as business, industry, media, community, government, youth, research and medicine.
Nominations are received from all over Australia, and every year they are overwhelmed by the number of quality nominations showcasing the important and innovative work that many Australians are doing in the prevention of suicide and support of people affected by suicide.
Nominees typically range from mainstream programs to community-based organisations and dedicated individuals. The awards celebrate the commitment and energy of the nominees and their vital contribution to the reduction of suicide within their communities.
Each and every submission is important to help showcase the important work around Australia.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals or organisations can be nominated across multiple years and categories.
- LiFE Awards can reapply after one year has elapsed (i.e., if awarded in 2021, you cannot reapply until 2023). An organisation may nominate a different campaign, event, or initiative on the condition that there is significant difference to the previous year’s LiFE Award.
- Current staff or members of the Suicide Prevention Australia board are ineligible to nominate or receive an award.
