Sub-Saharan Africa: International Corruption Hunters Alliance 2023 Blog Contest

State Capture and Beyond Project Grant Program in South Africa

Deadline: 20-May-2023

The World Bank is inviting applicants to submit their blog for the International Corruption Hunters Alliance (ICHA) Blog Contest on the topic of “How can young people work with their governments and civil society organizations to speak up against corruption and counter the negative impacts corruption has on society”.

The ICHA is a global gathering of front-line anticorruption practitioners in government, investigatory and prosecutorial and preventive agencies, the private sector, and civil society, with the aim of engaging in conversation, sharing knowledge and experience on challenges, risks, as well as opportunities for advancing anticorruption efforts, at all levels.

The 2023 ICHA Forum is co-organized by the World Bank Group’s Integrity Vice Presidency and its Western and Central Africa Vice Presidency and will be hosted in Abidjan with partnership from the Government of Côte d’Ivoire. After being consistently hosted in Europe or North America since its inception in 2010, this year’s ICHA will mark the first time that the international event is hosted by an African country.

The ICHA Forum connects participants from more than 100 countries to engage in dialogue on rapidly evolving anticorruption developments, such as illicit financial flows, beneficial ownership, and financial and tax transparency to managing risks in critical economic sectors. The Forum strives to bridge the gap between dialogue and action, and to showcase knowledge from all corners of the world to strengthen collective efforts against corruption. The event is also an opportunity to help strengthen collaboration among the global anticorruption community and to forge new ties among global and regional actors, with a particular emphasis this year on countries across west and central Africa.
