South Africa is facing numerous development challenges relating to education, health, poverty, corruption, women empowerment and many more. Finding solutions to these challenges requires a unique and dedicated contribution of all stakeholders throughout the country.
Throughout South Africa, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are playing a vital role in the country’s development and to promote social or political change on a broad scale or locally. Their activities include, but are not limited to, environmental, social, education, health, youth and many more.
As non-profit organizations, NGOs rely on a variety of sources for funding projects. Funding is the core part of the development of any country, and in South Africa, funding is the main barrier in its development that is also majorly hindering the work of NGOs in various sectors.
Funding for NGOs comes primarily from three sources: government subsidies, corporate social investment, and donors/foundations (both foreign and local).
Various organizations are raising their hands to help South African NGOs for the betterment of people and communities in need. Every year these organizations release their funding call for the NGOs.
Therefore keeping this in mind, we have compiled a list of open opportunities that are expected to open in 2019.
