The Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) is accepting applications for its Researcher Database.
The Modern Slavery PEC will approach researchers from the databases directly when looking to commission work, so that they can start projects and deliver research quickly to meet specific policy or operational needs.
Funding Information
- This research will be up to a maximum of £30,000, to include staff costs and additional expenditure (such as travel) needed to complete the research.
Eligibility Criteria
- Commissioned research can be led by and include researchers from UK-based Higher Education Institutions, Research Organisations registered with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and charities registered in the UK.
- The Modern Slavery PEC is committed to ensuring the research base meets the equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
Criteria

All commissioned research must meet the following criteria:
- Address the aims and objectives identified by the Modern Slavery PEC
- Use the appropriate methodology to meet the aims and objectives identified
- Meet the Modern Slavery PEC’s strategic objectives and aligns with the PEC’s guiding principles for research
- The project is feasible within the time/resource allocation
- The research has appropriate ethics and safeguarding statements and protocols
- The project has clear and strong policy impact potential
- Proposed project outputs are appropriate to the goals of the project and resources of the team.
