  • Principal Investigator salaries, general travel, fuel, consultants, laptops, tablets, drones, laboratory animals

• Have returned to their home country in the last 36 months or plan to return before the end of 2026

• Hold or be in the process of accepting a position at a university or research institution in their home country

• Not hold an active TWAS or OWSD Early Career Women Scientists grant

• Apply for only one TWAS or OWSD programme per calendar year

Application Process

1. Prepare Proposal: Develop a clear and strong research proposal, justifying all requested components.

2. Submit Online: Applications must be submitted through the TWAS website.

3. Deadline: 31 March 2026

4. Trilateral Agreement: If selected, a formal agreement is signed between TWAS, the Principal Investigator, and the home institution

5. Post-Grant Requirements: Submit a final report within one year of last purchase; all equipment and materials remain with the home institution
