Submit Applications for Sports Stafford Borough Sports Award (UK)

Call for Applications: Sport Together Fund (France, Germany or the Netherlands)

Deadline: 01-Oct-2025

The Sports Stafford Borough Sports Award scheme provides financial support to talented sports performers, local sports clubs, and coaches within the Stafford borough.

Designed to encourage and strengthen sporting activities, the scheme offers grants of up to £1,000 to voluntary, non-profit organizations and local sports clubs dedicated to serving the community.

The fund aims to assist organizations that offer sporting opportunities to residents by supporting a variety of needs. Eligible purposes for funding include the acquisition and improvement of land or buildings for sports use, such as creating new training areas, resurfacing fields, or upgrading changing facilities. The scheme also supports the purchase of major sports equipment and maintenance tools, as well as materials for projects that encourage increased participation in sport.

Applications are accepted from voluntary, non-profit groups with open membership policies and local sports organizations that demonstrate a commitment to community service. However, certain groups are not eligible for funding. Non-constituted community or voluntary groups, newly established organizations with less than a year’s experience, and those without a proven track record are excluded. Additionally, limited companies, sole traders, or partnerships without charitable aims, and organizations with an annual income exceeding £1,000,000 cannot apply.

The scheme also does not provide funding to statutory agencies, public sector bodies, or organizations with statutory responsibilities. To avoid duplication, groups that may qualify for assistance from other local sports or arts councils are also excluded. Funding is not available for party political activities, promotion of religious causes, medical research, or animal welfare.

This grants scheme is an excellent opportunity for community-focused sports organizations to gain essential funding that helps improve facilities, equipment, and participation across the Stafford borough.
