About the Award

The Annual Award for Development (AAD) recognizes outstanding contributions addressing global development challenges. The award highlights projects demonstrating innovation, measurable impact, and cooperation among developing countries. It emphasizes solutions that deliver tangible, scalable, and long-term benefits aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Eligibility Criteria

Transformational Impact Award: Public institutions and development agencies operating in OPEC Fund-eligible countries that completed development projects within the past three years.

Innovation for Development Award: Startups, private companies, social enterprises, or research institutions operating in eligible partner countries.

Youth Entrepreneurship Award: Entrepreneurs under 30 working on renewable energy, food security, or climate action in OPEC Fund partner or member countries.

Nominations must be submitted by individuals or institutions with direct knowledge of the nominee’s work. Nominators cannot be employees, founders, family members, or compensated board members of the nominated organization or OPEC Fund.
