The UN Trust Fund has launched a new Call for Proposals to provide four-year grants, offering both core and flexible funds, to civil society organizations working to end violence against women and girls.
The initiative focuses particularly on organizations serving structurally marginalized groups, with the goal of strengthening their resilience and sustainability so they can continue delivering critical services, advancing prevention, and driving transformative change.
Proposals are welcomed from organizations that contribute to key outcomes, including improving access for women and girls to essential, safe, and quality multisectoral services; enhancing prevention through shifts in behaviors, practices, and attitudes; and increasing the effectiveness of legislation, policies, national action plans, and accountability systems aimed at preventing and ending violence against women and girls.
Grants under this program will range from US $150,000 to US $800,000, with each award running for a duration of four years. Eligible applicants must be based in countries or territories included on the OECD Development Assistance Committee’s list of official development assistance recipients.
This funding opportunity comes at a critical time when frontline civil society organizations face shrinking civic space, growing resistance, and widening funding gaps. Meanwhile, the demand for life-saving services and prevention strategies is rising. The UN Trust Fund emphasizes that long-term, flexible support is essential to enable these organizations, especially women’s rights groups, women-led initiatives, and smaller grassroots organizations, to remain resilient and at the forefront of change.
By prioritizing women- and constituent-led organizations, the program seeks to ensure that those most directly impacted and engaged in ending violence are supported to lead efforts that bring lasting impact in their communities.
