The Civil Society Democratic Governance Facility (Amkeni Wakenya) is inviting interested and eligible non-state actors including NGOs, FBOs, Academic Institutions, CBOs to submit proposals for the award of grants in a programme entitled “Strengthening Civic Space for Realization of Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs in Kenya”.

Focus of Interventions

The project is to be implemented in 6 counties of Kilifi, Kwale, Turkana, Kitui, Wajir & Garissa with a focus on interventions relating to:

Amkeni Wakenya is a flagship project of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) established in 2008 to provide coordinated technical and financial support to non-state actors working on democratic governance in Kenya.

The funding under this project is aimed at promoting an enabling civic space and therefore strengthening the ability of CSOs in holding governments and the private sector accountable for the realization of SDGs.
