Apply for Women’s Leadership Programme – Africa

NOFO: Public Diplomacy Strategic Programs (Argentina)

Deadline: 15-Jul-2025

The UONGOZI Institute invites applications from African women leaders across all sectors for its Women’s Leadership Programme. This six-month programme helps participants navigate the unique leadership challenges that often prevent women from reaching senior roles in the workplace. It is designed for both senior and emerging female leaders, aiming to enhance their strategic decision-making, people and resource management, and leadership qualities.

The programme strengthens strategic thinking, improves communication skills, sharpens change leadership, and equips participants with techniques to balance work and life while in leadership positions. It includes a one-day Women’s Leadership Forum, which brings together Tanzanian senior and emerging leaders to exchange ideas and best practices for promoting women’s inclusion in leadership.

Training runs over six consecutive days and focuses on personal leadership development, professionalism and branding, strategic analysis and decision-making, and financial analysis for executives. The programme also includes coaching and mentoring, with an estimated monthly time commitment of 1-4 days. Coaching helps participants identify areas for growth, set performance goals, and build confidence through one-on-one and group sessions. Mentoring supports participants in finding and nurturing relationships with mentors to help them become the leaders they aspire to be.

Eligibility requires African women in mid- or senior-level positions across sectors. Participants must complete all programme sections—Women’s Leadership Forum, training, coaching, and mentoring—and submit graded assignments to graduate. Selection criteria include at least five years of leadership experience, seven years of work experience, and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Application requires a CV (max three pages), a recommendation and permission letter from the employer confirming full participation, and a motivational statement (450–500 words) explaining leadership successes, challenges, and reasons for applying.
