Deadline: 21-Feb-22

UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the ResiliArt Accelerator Zimbabwe Implementation Partner.

The ResiliArt Accelerator project innovatively responds to the existing knowledge and capacity gaps in entrepreneurial skills and the formalization of creative businesses expressed by thousands of stakeholders during the debates organized in the context of the UNESCO ResiliArt movement.

ResiliArt is a global movement launched in April 2020 consisting of a series of virtual debates with key industry professionals and artists – both renowned and unknown – to raise awareness of the far-reaching impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the creative sector.

The project’s focus on women creative professionals addresses the persistent challenges that women face in the creative industries, further worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, five women from Zimbabwe leading an existing creative business with a limited or informal capacity will receive customized online mentorship from international women creative professionals from Africa and regular face-to-face sessions from a team of local coaches. Subjects will range from project planning, pitch, fundraising, marketing and financing.

Together, they will collaborate to enhance the business skills and professional capacities of the mentees and to improve the reach and scale of their creative businesses. Partnerships with Ministries and international and local financial institutions will be envisaged for future funding opportunities in order to support the sustainability of the individual businesses after UNESCO’s exit.
