The Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) is looking for women professionals from non-governmental sector, who are active in the sphere of preventing and countering violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism (P/CVERLT) and motivated to join and contribute to the regional networks in South-Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
“WIN for Women and Men: Strengthening Comprehensive Security through Innovating and Networking for Gender Equality (WIN)” is an extra-budgetary project aimed at accelerating the implementation of the women, peace and security agenda in the OSCE region. Capitalizing on the OSCE’s comparative advantage in bridging global and regional good practices with local initiatives, the project works across all three OSCE dimensions of security. It develops tools, builds confidence and capacity, and strengthens networks of women peacebuilders, elected officials, security professionals and young women.
The Networks will:
- Serve as a platform for women P/CVERLT professionals across sectors (non-governmental and governmental) in the two regions to exchange good practices, including cross-regional cooperation and collaboration.
- Generate new ideas and perspectives on P/CVERLT and lifting up voices of women professionals in informing and shaping gender-sensitive P/CVERLT policies.
- Exchange knowledge, experiences, practices, and opportunities in P/CVERLT.
- Enable networking and peer-support.
Objectives
- The objectives of the Networks are to:
- Strengthen relationship between the authorities and non-governmental actors in South-Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
- Contribute to trust-building to reinforce a whole-of-society and human rights-based approach to P/CVERLT.
- Shape and promote age- and gender-sensitive P/CVERLT policies.
The anticipated composition of the Networks from each country:
- Up to 2-3 members from CSOs, academia, media.
- Up to 1-2 member from state agencies/institutions.
- Up to 1 member from the local OSCE field missions.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Network membership involves a commitment to its objectives and values. In addition, the Network members should be/have:
- Female;
- From non-governmental sector;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in P/CVERLT programming, projects, advocacy/awareness raising, research and/or analysis;
- Experience in engaging with local communities and/or authorities relevant to P/CVERLT;
- Based in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North-Macedonia, Montenegro or Serbia;
- Working level knowledge of English or Russian language;
- Ready to devote up to 1-2 hours per week;
- Committed to share information and experiences, promote collaboration, generate ideas and implement joint initiatives of the Network.
- Besides, a Network member should have desirable experience in:
- Human-rights compliant and age- and gender-sensitive programming and/or gender analysis;
- Volunteer work and/or being part of a network;
- Working with international organizations.
