UN Women Jordan Country Office is looking for a company to support with the design and dissemination of an awareness-raising campaign on the socio-economic benefits of creating an enabling environment for female labour force participation.
UN Women will carry out an awareness-raising campaign to promote productive employment and decent jobs for women. With a focus onthe socio-economic benefit of creating an enabling environment for women’s participation in the labour market in cooperation with national partners and CSOs, childcare, paternity leave and unpaid care work, the campaign aim to challenges misconceptions and harmful social norms that further marginalize women and hinder their economic empowerment.
Objectives
- Improve understanding of the socio-economic benefits of creating an enabling environment for women’s participation in the labour market among relevant government and private sector partners:
- Draft and submit a workplan with timeline and responsible actor as well as a communications strategy for 10-months awareness raising campaign;
- Conduct a community-base assessment and stakeholders consultation to identify key messages and dissemination strategies;
- Develop baseline and endline surveys for the communications strategy that will be used to evaluate the results and impact of the strategy at the end;
- Conduct regular monitoring exercises of the communications activities, document and report on a quarterly basis.
- Carry out an evidence-based driven advocacy campaign about women’s value of work in both traditional and non-traditional fields, the benefits of childcare services in public and private sectors and on paternity leave’s role in promoting shared unpaid care responsibilities: The company is expected to developed and disseminate the following products, but not limited to:
- Develop and disseminate Impact stories on women in the frontline of COVID-19 response, women working in non-traditional sectors, and companies successful stories in adopting policies and internal procedures towards a more egalitarian work environment, 15 stories in total (in both English and Arabic);
- Produce and disseminate videos and multimedia products about socio-economic benefits of creating an enabling environment for women’s participation in the labour market, including the benefits of childcare services in the public and private sectors, paternity leave, and preventing and addressing violence and harassment in the world of work; at least 4 videos with subtitles;
- Produce and disseminate social media assets to be disseminated in different outlets on the importance of social protection legislation for women; 6 assets in total (in both English and Arabic).
Strategy
The company is also expected to organize visibility events, including a dedicated interactive rooms exhibition, in line with the developed communications strategy, in details:
- University talks to raise awareness of young women and men on the socio-economic benefits of promoting women’s labour force participation, including women’s employment in non-traditional sectors; at least 2 events.
- Visibility events with key stakeholders: one on the importance of social protection legislation for women towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, and one on the importance preventing and addressing violence and harassment in the world of work; at least 2 events.
- Visibility events with the private sector on the benefits of creating an enabling environment for women’s labour force participation, including through the adoption of internal policies and procedures on how to create a more egalitarian work environment, and on how to prevent and address violence and harassment in the world of work; at least 2 events.
Duration
- The duration of the entire assignment will be from December 2021 to August 2022.
Eligibility Criteria
- Company’s Minimum Qualifications:
- As minimum requirements, the offeror shall demonstrate:
- Legal registration;
- At least 4years of relevant experience;
- Experience in Jordan and/or to a Jordanian targeted audience in designing, creating content, and implementing awareness raising campaigns
- Previous projects in the field of gender equality and/or women’s empowerment;
- As minimum requirements, the offeror shall demonstrate:
- Project Manager:
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of media and communications.
- Master’s degree in Journalism, Media and Communications, Gender Studies, or other relevant fields of study;
- Excellent command of English and Arabic.
- Communications Officer:
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of media and communications.
- Bachelor degree in Journalism, Media and Communications, Gender Studies, or other relevant fields of study with additional 2 years of working experience in a relevant field;
- Excellent command of English and Arabic
