Apply Now: Connect and Create Creative Tandems Program

Radio Art Residency for Artists from Non-German Speaking Countries

Deadline: 14-Dec-2025

The Connect and Create Creative Tandems program is opening a new call for proposals to support innovative partnerships in the performing arts and music sectors between organizations in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.

Each tandem must be made up of one African and one European partner, with the African organization taking the lead in submitting the application. The initiative aims to foster artistic collaboration, cultural exchange, and inclusive creative practices, while empowering youth and emerging artistic scenes.

Projects may include co-creation and co-production initiatives, artistic and research residencies, training sessions, exchanges, and peer-learning activities. Activities can be implemented in sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, or across both regions. Projects are expected to run for 18 to 24 months and must begin between March 2026 and March 2028. Priority will be given to tandems that already have a history of collaboration and wish to deepen their work together.

This call for projects is supported by a total budget of €600,000. Selected projects will be eligible for funding ranging from €20,000 to €60,000, covering up to 50% of the overall project budget. The funding will provide crucial support for ambitious, cross-continental collaborations while ensuring that projects maintain sustainable co-financing structures.

To qualify, project leaders must demonstrate long-term commitment to the performing arts or music sector and meet strict eligibility criteria. Partnerships must include legally registered organizations based in one of the 48 countries of sub-Saharan Africa and one of the 27 EU countries. Eligible entities may include associations, foundations, cultural institutions, or private companies with at least two years of legal establishment, a valid registration document, and a bank account able to receive international transfers. Projects must be non-profit and demonstrate significant experience in the creative field.

By encouraging cultural synergy, knowledge exchange, and eco-responsible practices, this program seeks to spark innovative, impactful collaborations that strengthen ties between African and European creative ecosystems.
