UNICEF has announced a Call for Proposals to identify eligible Civil Society Organisations for a prospective partnership that will support the implementation of the programme “Prilike”, that will provide the opportunity for Montenegrin adolescents to learn more about potential career opportunities and support them in preparing for the job market.
UNICEF is the agency of the United Nations mandated to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
The call is open for all organizations, but they particularly encourage CSOs with the background in adolescent and youth development, employment and participation to apply.
The main objective of the Prilike programme is to design a meaningful internship programme for a total of 1500 adolescents in Montenegro, across the duration of the programme, which would allow them to learn more about potential career opportunities and prepare them for the job market. The main target group is high-school students in 3rd and 4th grade of secondary schools (17-19 years old) since research showed they need most help with career guidance and potential career decisions.
The Call for Proposals falls under the Prilike programme which is focused on effectively helping adolescents in Montenegro to reach their full potential in preparing for and entering the job market.
Objectives
The objective of the support is two-fold:
- To provide support and empower adolescents to reap benefits of the job market by creating job-shadowing and internship opportunities.
- To create a strong link between CSOs, the business sector and adolescents where their input and participation will inform further practice particularly when it comes to the job market and skills development and matching.
Expected Results
- During the initial 7 months, at least 500 adolescent boys and girls are reached, informed about the potential career opportunities and provided support to meaningfully participate in the job market within Prilike.
- During the initial 7 months, at least 500 adolescents are consulted and given the opportunity to co-create activities relevant to the job-shadowing and internship opportunities within Prilike.
- At least 50 companies are identified as hosts, through new and existing UNICEF and TUI business network with the potential to expand it with other key stakeholders within Prilike.
- The timely and effective support is provided to all key stakeholders participating in the program in order to design and administer activities in the first 7 months of the programme, including training.
- The role of the CSOs to act as mediators between the business sector and adolescents is increased, with the possibility to provide more opportunities for adolescents to navigate skills development and utilize employment opportunities.
- The roadblocks for adolescents to participate in the job-market, utilise employment opportunities and develop skills are identified and the programme is further developed with their key inputs.
Duration of Interventions
- One CSO will receive funding in order to support implementation of the Prilike programme in the period from December 2020 until July 2021.
Eligibility Criteria
CSO must
- Be registered in country of origin;
- Not be an entity named on any of the UN Security Council targeted sanction lists.
